The Big guy in Red!

The stores have been stocking up with Christmas goodies since September.
We have only just started November,
but yet everywhere you look there is Christmas stuff,
Decorations, Christmas trees, Presents, Good food.
I have even noticed some houses around our area starting to put up lights.
What the heck is going on!
Don't get me wrong,
 i absolutely Love Christmas.

Starting it so early though??
It makes "me" kind of board with the whole
"Christmas theme"
before it actually begins.

What happened to December being the Christmas Month,
setting your tree up up on the 1st and all...

Anyways.. enough with the whining
 its almost here,
I'm still no closer to having anything organized,
we are having a "stay at home" Christmas this year,
with just us.
(me, my hubby & our over excited kiddies)

normally we would go to one of our parents places for a few days then on to the other parents,
There is an 11 hour drive between the two, that's not including having to stop or getting stuck in traffic.

The reason we have finally decided to just 'Stay Home' this year is:

*** Our kids never get to enjoy playing with there 'Santa' toys,
every year we get up very early
rush to open present, pack the car
then head off to a family members house***

*** Were so exhausted from the early morning, horrible traffic, and the long drive, that when we get to where we are going
we are all tired and are really not a bunch of fun to be around***

lastly

*** We really Do Not want a repeat of last Christmas***

Driving to my parents place, in the rain,
my tyre blow out i lost all steering in my car and ended up
down an embankment and through a fence
on the opposite side of the road.

Lucky for us there was no other traffic on the road, so no one was hurt.
when we were leaving a few days later, we were in the middle of nowhere, and got another flat tyre..
the spare was already on my car..

So i am really looking forward to having a nice quite Christmas day at home!

What are your plans for Christmas?

Christmas is complete pandamonium...it's a blur of driving here and there diapers kisses too much food and drink...I wish that we could somehow lesson all the visiting but we get guilt trips from all angles of the universe. I actually love Christmas The day after when hubs and toddler and I can breathe and just enjoy our company. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my family but all squeezed in one day is too much!

If you think the shops are playing it too early, you haven't been to my country. In Manila, Christmas starts once the -ber months begin & that's September. And we are staying home too. I prefer a quiet Christmas always.

@ Kimberly fully understand squeezing it all in to one day..
before both our families moved away, we would have Xmas at our place untill around 8am, then head to either parents for lunch then to the other parents place for dinner, talk about exhausted at the end of the day, not to mention the extra weight i put on, having two huge Xmas feeds lol..

I am sooo looking forward to our 'First' christmas at home with just us!

We can never work out Christmas very well. Certain people are just not flexible and it's annoying. So once again, I will not be seeing my family on or even around Christmas and we will be spending it with my in-laws.

Glad it's not just me that's thinking Christmas started extra early this year, it's crazy starting in September, personally in our house it doesn't start until after the 1st Dec, (Daddy's birthday). This year will be very different for us, instead of trying to keep warm and meeting family down the pub for a Christmas drink then coming home to a full Christmas roast, we are planning a picnic on the beach, just the 3 of us for our 1st Christmas back in Oz :)
