If you mess about on stairs, you will get hurt!

(Miss 7 had a school friend over on the weekend.)

Mum: Girls don't play on the stairs, i don't want any broken bones in my house today.
Miss 7: mum don't be silly, we're not going to get hurt.
 (Theres 14 steps)
Mum: Girls bring the chairs inside it's really not a good idea to have them at the top of the stairs.

Miss 7 and friend: It's fine the chairs fit perfect, we won't fall.

Mum: You aren't going to listen untill one of you get hurt are you!?

Girls - Start to giggle and play mum walks inside.

Not even 5 minutes later i hear screaming

Don't count on Mr 3 to save you if you hurt your self.

Mum: what happened?
Mr 3: Tell her to be quite mum, she is crying to loud!

School friend: Miss 7 dropped her toy then she fell over when she bent down to pick it up. She rolled and bounced all the way to the bottom of the stairs, now she is crying i think she might be hurt.
"Rolled and bounced" gotta love how it was described.

Lesson learnt the hard way!
If you are going to play on stair, you Will get hurt.

Photos taken 3 days later.
'OUCH!' First black eye, poor thing.

Lucky for her she only fell from about half way down.

I thought she might have broken something in her hand or wrist. After she fell she couldn't move 2 of her fingers and her hand swelled up but after putting it on ice for a while the swelling went down.

She ended up with a black eye and cheek, and a scratch and bruise just under her butt.
Could have been so much worse, so lucky it wasn't.

My two are still little. I am not looking forward to the future juggle of giving them freedom and some independence yet having to juggle their safety too. I'm sure we all just sound like nags to the kids. Ah well.

Kids! They always learn the hard way. I know I did.

Nice shiner though!

I don't know if saying "happy ww!" counts here since it's about your little girl falling down the stairs. Poor baby!! I'm glad she's doing alright..

Ouch! So she knows now not to play on the stairs then? Wonder how long she will remember that its not a good idea.

Lol and Mr 3 covering his ears. My Mr 4 does that when his sister is chucking a tantrum.

We have 13 stairs also.

My Munchkin went down when we had a visitor a few weeks ago. He had pretty much the same injury. He climbed back up gave me a hug and went inside.

2 weeks later he did the same thing when the same visitor was here! He commented on how that was twice... I didn't even remember the incident until I was reminded!

I think you are very lucky if that's her first black eye. Barely a day goes by here without someone sporting a black eye or other facial bruising. Mine do have rubber heads though...

You just can't tell them can you! Hope she if feeling better. We've had a few shiners too. There's a reason my two are called CrashGirl and CrashBoy. My brother keeps threatening to buy them headgear . . .

Kids know best... until someone gets hurt! Maybe next time she'll listen? Nah! Who are we kidding?

Good to hear nothing was broken.

poor little thing...but the conversation you had with her before the fall is repeated here a hundred times a day! They never listen! Hopefully, she will be on the mend very soon!
