Tuesday Terror

Bloggy moms has a September's challenge -  take a day out of your life... and blog about it.

My kids do NOT know how to sleep in!
on a weekday we get up at 7:30 not 6am.

Besides the getting up a little bit earlier, the morning went on as normal.
I set my little guy up in front of the t.v with his breakfast so i can get the older 2 ready for school.
jaxen and i walk with the kids  to school, once the bell had rang we said goodbye and headed
across the road to the chemist and bakery got what we needed and headed home.
We carried on with our normal daily duties
Time flys by,
the next thing i know its 2:40,
not long now and we have to go and collect my older 2 from school (3:10)
But
at 2:50 i hear the school bell
but it was just one long ring, i have never heard the bell sound like this.
within 5 minutes im hearing police sirens,

Then i receive a phone call from a friend who actually works on the crossing at the school,
telling to to get up to the school ASAP
There has been a robbery,
and then she hang up, not knowing all the details i freaked out
and naturally think the worst.
Dont think my car has ever been driven that fast.

once i got to the school and seen the school was in complete lock down with a teacher at every entrance and all the gates locked not letting anyone in or out.
Now im really worried still not knowing anything more.. eventually a teacher came and let us in, and explained what was going on!

There had been a robbery across the road at the chemist, some Dickhead with a shoot gun wanting Drugs.

he got his drugs then took off on foot, in the opposite direction of the school, so the police came and told us,
we who have cars can take our children home, everyone else had to wait for a lift or further instructions from the police.
so we left the school got home locked up everything, not knowing if this idiot was still out there and even where he was.
My hubby gets home a little while later, and informed us what he had just heard on the radio,
 "The Robber"
was hiding under someone's house, a few streets over from us, the police had him surrounded so he wasn't going nowhere. We later heard that he surrendered after 9 hours, and is now in police protection in a hospital!

What a day!
Thankfully nobody besides himself was hurt!
This is a day i never want to experience again.

I'm not sure who was more scared by the situation
Me, my son or Daughter.
Actually my son (9) thought it was pretty cool, his classroom was at the opposite side of the school, so he nothing to worry about.
my daughter on the other hand, her class room was on the shop side, they were instructed to sit under there desks, which i think made my daughter (6) realize something bad was happening and scared her even more.

I had a fun time last night trying to get her to sleep.

This morning she informed me she was not going to school unless i rang the police to confirm "The bad guy was in jail".
so i called them and explain to them what was going on and then put her on the phone.
She went to school today and has not said anything more about it.
here's to a day in my life!!
