Did you know... ... ...

Variety- the Children’s Charity’s fourth annual Santa Fun Run is kicking off on Sunday
November 25th, 2012, Australia-wide!!

Variety and Santa Fun Run ambassador, Geoff Huegill are urging people of all ages to be
part of a record number of Santa’s to take to the streets in the hope of edging closer to the
Santa Run World Record

We are expecting up to 2,000 to take part in Brisbane and 20,000 across the country this year.

The Santa Fun Run is open to young and old, encouraging individuals, families and
community groups of all abilities to participate.

This is a fun filled event for everyone, which brings the community together in support of sick,
disadvantaged and children who have special needs.

The 5km fun run has been split into two categories – Runners & Walkers to ensure suitability for
all fitness levels from competitive runners and sporting groups to school kids and families

You can run it, walk it, skip it, hop it - finish it however you like, just make sure you do it in your official five piece Variety Santa Suit!

All registrations include a Santa suit for adults and children (aged 3-12). These aren’t your
average Santa suits, as they’re especially created to deal with Australia’s summer Christmas
conditions.

The distinctly “Aussie” style Santa suits will be fashioned in cool cotton and the traditional
pants will be replaced by shorts as homage to our hot festive season.

This year (as with all years) we are encouraging participants to not only register but set up
their fundraising page to ask family and friends for sponsorship.

There are so many reasons why you should join in!
  • It’s a great way of getting active and healthy
  • It’s so much fun dressing up as Santa and being with all your friends and family
  • It’s the perfect time (November 25th) to get in to the festive spirit of Christmas!
  • By participating and raising money for Variety Queensland you will be assisting us in our mission to help children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs to live, laugh and learn.
  • It’s a great example to the community to show how your school really makes an effort, to make a difference.
