Mr 10 to Mr 3:
What are you having for dinner?

Mr 3:

I love chicken, its my favorite.

Mr 10:

I don't see any chooks or birds around here.

Mr 3:

It's chicken from the shop.
I'ts not a bird or a chook.

Mr 10:

Mr 3:

I've managed to avoid this conversation with my own child so I have no help for you! Hehe.

If you do get an awesome suggestion, please send it my way so I have something up my sleeve when I need it ;)

Belle's (now 5) cousins have chickens so she kinda understood where we get chicken from. We had a problem with beef and pork because it's not called cow and pig! Whenever it came up we would just tell her light heartedly that it was cow and she would laugh us off thinking we were totally insane until she finally understood. We were lucky it didn't affect her eating anything. I say let him put 2 and 2 together when he's ready. If Belle ever asked/s me a question like this I get her to work out her own answers, even if she's a little deluded for a while.

My three your old makes clucking noises every time we have chicken. I never explained it to him, he just gets it, and he still eats it to. He also ask me every time we have eggs if it's a chicken egg. I mean, really? Where do kids get this stuff from.

I'm not one to ask, I can't eat anything that looks like an animal, so a whole fish I can't stand but I can have a fillet :P
