Making Money!

This post has been Inspired By the lovely Tina Grey {dot} Me

Tina Gray {dot} Me

I read Tina's story a few post's ago
'Selling 1000 things!'
If you haven't read it already be sure to pop on over and take a peek.

We are in the process of planing a trip to Bali, toward the end of the year,
 for my hubby's little brother's 18th birthday.
More on that later....

After reading Tina's post, I got to thinking....

 I to can do this.
By selling 1000 items from my home for no less then $1 each,
making me no less then $1000.

I'm sure this will make the 'transport' side to the trip slightly easier
or it will help with spending money.
What can i say, this girl loves to shop.

So... starting 1 week ago i rounded up a few items from home and put them all on eBay.
Everything sold. That makes me happy.

I told Hubs about my plan, he must have thought it was a good idea.
Over the weekend i found him out in his 'Man Cave'
searching for things he could sell.
He is a back yard mechanic so he found a few things worth selling.
I'm sure if i was allowed in his 'man cave' i could find a few more things. $$$
I don't understand why i 'm not allowed in.!

You can find us on ebay - janendavid99

I would love for you to share your tips on saving
 or making money.
Also
Any tips for a first time traveller would also be muchly appreciated.

Do you shop with a budget? I used to make myself a shopping budget for every pay check, then depending on what i was saving for i'd stretch the shopping, make less go further by adding beans or pasta or something of the like. Then whatever was left over from my shopping budget (minus a few dollars for the rest of the weeks bread and milk) would go into the bank for savings.
Of course some weeks it was great, others i would find great savings on meats, or veg i could easily freeze and use later so i would have no savings but i made up for it in the weeks that followed by not needing to purchase as much.
It isn't as easy now with rising costs etc (and 4 children) but its still doable... Try simplesavings $21 challenge, it can be great fun, they also have some other fantastic frugal ideas :)

Good luck, that sounds like a lot of ebaynlistings.

One of the ladies at our dance classes goes to the op shop and buys stuff then sells it on eBay.

She also takes other peoples old stuff and sells it for them, as in, if she gets $100, she keeps ten and gives you 90. This works for some people depending on the item. Hard rubbish day is also the time to grab some things.

I look forward to seeing how you go and if it was work th it. I think we would be better to save $1000 by turning off the lights, heater, dryer, and no junk food for three months.

We have just started saving for a huge trip in a few years time, but are subscribing to the 'take care of the cents and the dollars will look after themsleves' theory. At the moment we are saving every silver coin we get in change. It goes in a special money box, and the Kids are so excited to be putting money in for our trip. Soon I will start with gold coins too. A freind of mine would save up all her gold coin and by the end of the year would have enough svaed for an overseas holiday!
Only a small tip, but every cent helps right?

Great idea. I could easily find a mountain of stuff to sell from The Shed too. I'm not banned from it, but I think the inordinately messy state he keeps it in is partly a deliberate ploy to keep me from poking around too much.
Good luck with the revenue raising!
